ISU Jones Student Researchers Shine in 2025 Echague Cluster Undergraduate Research Symposium

CVAARRD, ISU Echague – June 25, 2025 — Student researchers from Isabela State University (ISU) – Jones Campus emerged as standout achievers at the 2025 Echague Cluster Undergraduate Research Symposium, held this morning at the Cagayan Valley Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (CVAARRD) Center in ISU Echague. The symposium brought together outstanding student researchers from ISU Angadanan, Echague, and Jones campuses, highlighting the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation through research.

Warren D. Gogua, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student majoring in Agronomy, took home 1st Place in the Technical Research Category for his study on enhancing the yield of Pinilisa Rice. With this achievement, he will proudly represent the Echague Cluster in the University-wide Undergraduate Research Symposium slated for June 30, 2025, also at ISU Echague.

In the Social Science Category, the research team composed of Renz Jade Daryl A. Dingle, Angelica L. Arcilla, and Harold E. Evangelista, all Bachelor of Science in Criminology students, earned 2nd Place for their compelling research addressing relevant social issues through an analytical and justice-oriented perspective in understanding the Challenges Experienced By The LGBTQIA+ Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLS) In a Jail Facility.

Meanwhile, the group of Melody M. Macarilay, Kenneth Elwin C. Agbayani, Angeline F. Correa, and Jeahlyn L. Matias, all pursuing Bachelor of Elementary Education, garnered 2nd Place in the Higher Education Research Category for their insightful study focused on investigating Mathematics anxiety among elementary pupils

These distinctions underscore the dedication, hard work, and intellectual rigor of ISU Jones student researchers, whose scholarly achievements continue to elevate the campus’s academic reputation. The success of these students is also a reflection of the steadfast support and mentorship provided by the Campus Research and Development Office, which plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant research culture across disciplines.
